Watercolorists Unlimited is a group of up to 20 artists who meet monthly to critique assigned projects and to plan exhibits. We show, as a group, several times a year and also organize a large annual show and sale. We are always looking for new opportunities and new members.

While the meetings are informal and friendly, the purpose is to critique works in progress and to set up challenges. The group meets in members’ homes on a rotating basis on the fourth Tuesday of the month at noon. The meetings start with lunch, followed by a business meeting and then the critique. Members bring our own bag lunch and the host furnishes coffee and tea. Members must live within a 20 to 25 minute driving distance of each other in the Princeton/Cranbury area. On an exception basis, a member may be accepted who lives outside these parameters. In such instance, the member shall agree to co-host one meeting each year with a member who lives within the stated geography.

Our process of selecting new members is this:

A member artist acts as a sponsor on your behalf and will present three examples of your watercolors, along with your biography, to a regular meeting for review. These can be in the form of either original matted watercolors, digital files (jpegs) or printed reproductions. If the group agrees to extend an invitation, we will invite you to our next meeting where you will have the opportunity to get to know us. We will also let you know the “subject of the month” for that month’s meeting and would expect you to participate in the critique session. Should you decide not to join after the meeting, please let your sponsor know.
